Royal Sun Alliance (now Vero) Building
The Royal Sun Alliance Building is a large-scale urban development with an office tower, services and retail spaces. Noel Lane Architects was comissioned to fit out the interior of the public spaces. DV8 Creative was commissioned in turn to design and produce decorative glass features.
The design objective was to re-introduce natural themes into the environment, referencing what is unique to New Zealand, and to feature works of leading New Zealand artists.
The glass work uses the Silver Fern motif to interact with light to create an interplay recalling a dappled forest floor. DV8 Creative designed and managed production of over 300 square metres of glass canopies, glass-encased lift interiors for eight lifts, sculptural steel/glass lighting columns and tabletops.
